This plant can be used in terrarium or paludarium. It does not survive submerged for more than a few months.

A hardy mid-ground plant which has to be pruned regularly to keep compact. Low nitrates with high phosphate will make the plant reddish.

Lagenandra nairii 'Compact'

Lagenandra nairii ‘Compact’ is endemic to Chalakkudy, Kerala and is quite unique for its stunning compact growing habit; obviously the compact in Lagenandra varieties.

This can be grown submersed as well as emerged in paludariums/ terrariums/ photospheres etc.
